It is said that Diddy, the legendary rapper and music mogul, feels quite bitter and envious toward fellow inmate Luigi Mangione in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center. Facing serious charges like sex trafficking, Diddy is throwing tantrums over the unwarranted popularity that Mangione has gained among inmates, who consider him to be a hero despite facing murder charges for the death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
According to informants, Mangione has gained this wide base of support because of his sad story that resonates with his fellow inmates who share his grievances on the topic of poor health care. In special contrast to Diddy, however, the latter is reviled and lonely in prison because he declares himself innocent in front of more than 150 crime claimants.
The two are represented by the same legal group but devoid of contact within the facility. Diddy is in general population while Mangione is housed in solitary confinement, which certainly adds to Diddy's feelings of jealousy and frustration. Their current situation, as they both await trial, presents a clear contrast in how they are viewed by other inmates at the facility.
